Ebbsfleet United Manager Liam Daish has increased his midfield and attacking options by adding Ben Greenhalgh and Adam Williams to his squad.
Twenty year old Greenhalgh first came to prominence by winning Sky TV’s Football’s Next Star competition and earning a six month contract with Inter Milan. The 20 year old from Orpington appeared for Welling United in 2009, making his debut in a Kent Senior Cup victory over Whitstable. After his time in Italy, he returned to Welling for a spell.
Williams, aged 19, has progressed from the Fleet’s PASE scheme to claim a place in the first team squad. Last season he gained loan experience with Erith Town and made his full Fleet debut in the FA Cup at Redbridge.
“Both lads have done very well during pre season” said Daish. “I have been impressed with how Adam has matured and I can see him being a valuable member of the squad. Ben deserves a chance to be part of our Blue Square Bet campaign after working hard with us in close season. With Michael West moving to Crewe he has a chance to claim a place in the side and now it is up to him to claim it.”
Keith Handley, Chairman of MyFootballclub added “ It will be very interesting to see how these 2 young players develop in the Ebbsfleet United team this season. I remember being impressed when I saw Ben on the Sky TV show in Italy a few years ago. I am sure his experience there will be very useful for The Fleet in the coming year.
